Community Engagement Officer
Location: Cleveland, OH

SUMMARYUnder supervision of the VP of Community Lending the Community Engagement Officer will be tasked with creating and sustaining valuable community partnerships to further the mission and goals of United Purpose Mortgage. A successful candidate will have a proven history of their ability to build relationships within the community and organization, plan and execute initiatives/events and strong analytic/reporting skills. A successful candidate will be a self starter to drive partnerships and bring ideas/initiatives to the full implementation phase to prove success.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with public and private organizations, non-profits, and local communities.
  • Identify, research, and analyze current and potential community engagement initiatives; Develop and implement strategies to engage stakeholders in activities that promote our mission and goals.
  • Design, plan, and coordinate events to promote the organization's activities in the community.
  • Create and manage campaigns to increase public awareness of our organization and initiatives.
  • Monitor the progress of initiatives and report findings to management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that initiatives are properly represented and communicated across all channels.
  • Lead and facilitate monthly and/or quarterly meetings with members of United Purpose Mortgage and Executive Team.
  • Provide one-to-one coaching and goal setting with residents, specifically around goals related to promoting economic mobility, including housing, budgeting, education, and more.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with organizations that provide resources to families living in affordable housing.
  • Design and execute effective communication strategies to inform residents of community events and other relevant information.
  • Collect all required community engagement information and input them into appropriate databases.
  • Assist in report writing for community engagement activities and initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in resident resource coordination, community organizing, community planning, and/or community relations.
  • Strong Facilitation skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills as well as a demonstrated ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, and in logical sequence. Ability to show accuracy, timeliness, adaptability to changing circumstances and follow-up on tasks.
  • Ability to work with and understand people of all ethnic backgrounds; And, to understand the challenges of residents living within affordable housing; or those of low income.
  • Ability to work independently and to make judgments within the scope of the job.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and utilizing database software (e.g., Surefire).
