Corporate Events Manager
Location: Pittsburgh, PA

SUMMARY OF JOB:  Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is looking for a strong, experienced, highly organized and creative Manager of Corporate Events. The Director will be responsible for all aspects of planning and execution for company events in all Howard Hanna market areas. These events range in size and scope from small gatherings to Howard Hanna’s bi-annual company-wide convention. Additionally, the Director oversees our incentive trip program with the assistance of our external travel companies. You will utilize your expertise to lead the planning efforts for the overall success of all projects and events.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Work with company executives to evaluate appropriate qualifications for various events throughout the year.
  • Work with sales managers in every region to create and manage detailed event and trip qualifier files
  • Work with graphic designers and communications team to create and distribute event invitations, emails, and other promotional materials needed for each event or incentive trip
  • Do research including venue searches, site inspections, price comparisons, and gift options to determine the appropriate needs for each event or project
  • Get proper executive approvals and book agreed upon venues and vendors.
  • Plan and manage workload and projects for Event Specialist and any other assigned subordinate positions.
  • Oversee the management of the company merchandise store
  • Participate in Corporate Office Children’s Free Care Fund Campaign efforts
  • Oversee suite administration needs for professional sports stadium luxury suites.
  • Research and contract appropriate 3rd party vendors for large scale events and incentive trips.
  • In conjunction with 3rd party travel agents, research, plan, and execute 2 international destination trips for over 900 qualifiers each year.
    • Manage vendor performance and relations with scheduled status meetings.
    • Verify budget, creative, and timeline expectations are being met.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in event planning and management required. 
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate incentive travel planning encouraged.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills required. 
  • Experience in customer service or other people-oriented fields desired.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment is necessary.
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets preferred.
  • Potential candidate should be willing to follow a flexible schedule.
  • Position will require travel and occasional evening work for events in the Howard Hanna major market areas including: Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Cleveland, Columbus, Ann Arbor, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Virginia Beach.
  • Position will require international travel to plan and execute 2 incentive trips every year (primarily European and Caribbean destinations).
  • Candidate must have reliable personal transportation and be able to drive to events as needed.
  • Position can be physically demanding and will require the candidate to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
