Systems Engineering Intern
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Position Overview
The IT Systems Engineering Intern will assist the IT Systems Engineering team with day-to-day operations, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and project work. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in IT systems engineering and support the team in various technical and administrative tasks. The selected candidate will work closely with our senior engineers to support various projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing our IT infrastructure.
Scope of Duties
Technical Support
- Assist in the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues related to operating systems, networking, and applications.
- Monitor system performance and security, reporting any anomalies to senior engineers.
System Administration
- Help maintain and update system documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the management of user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks, including backups, patch management, and system updates.
Project Assistance
- Support the implementation of new IT systems and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and test system configurations and integrations.
- Contribute to project documentation, including technical specifications, test plans, and user guides.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of IT systems and networking.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
