SUMMARY OF JOB:    The Voice Engineer works at the direction of the Network Manager and should be able to assist with design, build, automate, support, and manage new and existing Unified Communications Telephony.  Coordinates and performs system and network moves, adds and changes at all sites as directed. Participates in the specification, design, consolidation and support of existing telecommunication systems. This is a hybrid position with 2 days in office and 3 days work from home. 


  • Have a strong understanding of general network infrastructure and Voice over IP related technologies
  • Experience with Voice and Network planning, deployment and operational support
  • Assist with the testing, configuration and implementation of voice systems
  • Assists the Network Team with designing, configuring and implementation of the organization’s voice systems
  • Performs daily voice administration tasks, such as; end-user device provisioning, user creation, end-user training, hunt group configuration, voicemail configuration, etc…
  • Troubleshoots network/voice system failures and errors; and diagnoses, isolates, and resolves routine to moderately/highly complex network related problems ensuring timely results and minimal disruption of operations and reports findings to the Network Manager
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of rapidly changing computer network and telephony technology
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Network Manager or other appropriate administrators
  • Provide 2nd level technical support for integrated voice systems and networks
  • Updates standard documentation templates


  • 3-5 years of telephony experience
  • Technical proficiency with voice systems (Cisco)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus
  • Effective prioritization and project management skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, a related field or 3-5 years of related work experience
